Facility

Twenty thousand square foot facility. The shop area of sixteen thousand feet is fully craned. We have the crane capacity to lift a ten-ton load. A final assembly area complete with testing motors. The building has a 600 Volt 800 Amp industrial electrical system. All shop areas are temperature controlled.

Staff

Delta has a total of forty staff member of which thirty-two are in direct production

Equipment

Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Machining

  • CNC 3 axis lathe with 40.5-inch (1028mm) swing x 126-inch (3200mm) centers complete with steady rests, 6 inch spindle bore, 24 inch steel chuck and powered tooling on the turret. This 60 hp machine is new.

  • CNC milling center with an 80 inch (2032mm) x 50-inch (1270mm) table and 50 taper spindle, with complete fourth axis capability. Delta has one of the largest double column machining centers in western Canada.
  • CNC milling center with 67 inch (1700mm) x 40-inch (1016mm) table and 50 taper spindle, complete with fourth axis capability. Delta has one of the largest C frame machining centers in Canada.
  • CNC milling center with 51 inch (1300mm) x 29-inch (740mm) table and  a 50 taper spindle, complete with fourth axis capability.
  • 3 CNC fourth axis rotary tables, two 16 inch and one 20 inch diameters.

Conventional Machining

  • 5 lathes ranging up to 25-inch swing x 120-inch centers. All of these lathes are equipped with two axis digital readout systems (DRO). All of these machines are also capable of gun drilling operations.
  • 1 vertical boring mill with 60-inch diameter x 60-inch height complete with two axis DRO system.
  • 3 milling machines. A heavy-duty Cincinnati versipower, 30 hp machine, vertical and horizontal spindles, complete with a three axis DRO system. A Bridgeport type Mill with 2 axis DRO and a Cincinnati tooling mill for small work pieces.
  • 2 slotters ranging up to 22-inch stroke, both complete with two axis DRO’s.
  • 1 horizontal boring mill with a 50-inch x 50-inch table and a four axis DRO.
  • 1 radial ARM drilling machine with a 60-inch arm.
  • 1 key-seating machine.

Gear Grinder – Gear Inspection – Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC)

  • 1 Gleason – Pfauter P600/800G – CNC profile gear grinding machine. This brand new machine has a 31.5 (800mm) diameter by 15.75-inch (400mm) face width capacity. The machine has onboard probe inspection capability and also functions as a CNC gear inspection machine. For documentation purposes the results can be printed out. This machine can produce any gear tooth modification with maximum precision. This machine weighs 22 tons.

Gear Grinder – Conventional

  • 1 Niles gear grinding machine with 25-inch (630mm) diameter by 8.5-inch (215mm) face width capacity.

Gear Equipment – Conventional

  • 8 gear hobbing machines ranging up to 96 inch diameter. Two of these machines also are capable of generating worm gears. The gear hobbers are capable of cutting crowned gears, tapered tooth gears or any type of tooth modification.
  • 6 internal/external gear shaping machines ranging up to 40 inch diameter.
  • 1 thread-milling machine.

Grinding Conventional

  • 1 Surface grinder. This brand new machine has a 12-inch by 24-inch magnetic table. The machine has both a magnetic filter and a paper band filter to ensure superior surface finishes.

Inspection

  • Controlled inspection is with master gauges and standards. Delta Dynamics’ documented quality control system is API Spec Q1 and ISO 9001: 2000 compliant with certification on the near horizon.
  • Gleason- Goulder Profile and Lead Inspection machine with chart printouts.
  • Magnetic particle inspection, Liquid Penatrant Inspection.
  • Rockwell hardness tester
  • Full time dedicated inspection dept. for in-process inspection and 100% final inspection with separate dedicated measuring equipment.
